About Miss Kurant
Miss Michelle Kurant grew up in New Alexandria, Pennsylvania. Close to Pittsburgh, she is a huge Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin fan! She enjoys reading, animals, cooking, and traveling. This summer she visited California. Her favorite area was San Diego. She has a new pet guinea pig named Frannie. She misses her parent's two dogs, Boomer and Seger, very much.
From a very young age she knew she was meant to be a teacher. After receiving an elementary education degree from St. Vincent College and a reading specialist certification from The University of Pittsburgh she moved to Maryland. She now lives in Arlington, Va and teaches the third grade in Bethesda, Md at Wood Acres Elementary School.

Strange, But True Facts About Miss Kurant
Miss Kurant loves tomatoes...
but she hates mayonnaise....
and oddly, if there is one teeny speck of an olive in what she is eating she'll throw it away!
She's never been to Disney World! Yet she's seen the Colosseum in Rome.
She is terrified of bears, snakes, crocodiles, and sharks.
The beach happens to be her favorite place to visit though.
She loves to read. But hates when the books she loves turn into a movie. GROSS! (i.e. How dare they make The Lightning Thief into a movie.)
She loves ketch-up...on french fries, cheeseburgers, eggs...even popcorn!
